On Friday morning, a derailment occurred at the Drachenfelsbahn valley station during a shunting operation. The reason was an operating error at the points. The affected railcar was not occupied by passengers at the time - such journeys always take place without passengers. There was no danger to people at any time.
The Königswinter fire department and emergency services from the towns of Königswinter and Bonn were quickly on site and helped to get the railcar back on track. The vehicle was then technically inspected - no damage was found.
Safety is our top priority. The incident was dealt with internally to prevent it from happening again. We regret the restrictions on service on this day and thank you for your understanding.
Riding operations will resume as normal from Saturday, July 26. We look forward to your visit.
